TSI Semiconductors Achieves Trusted Foundry (Category 1A) Accreditation

Roseville, California, December 9, 2014 — TSI Semiconductors (TSI), a world-class foundry supplier of analog/mixed-signal, deep-submicron and high voltage BCDMOS devices, announced today that its 200 mm Wafer Fabrication Facility in Roseville, CA has been accredited by the Department of Defense (DoD) as a Category 1A Trusted Foundry. This designation, the highest awarded by the DoD, distinguishes TSI as a trustworthy manufacturer of microelectronics for the U.S. Government. “We are extremely honored and proud of this achievement that will enable us to provide secure products from our facility,” said Sagar Pushpala, CEO TSI Semiconductors.
The Trusted Foundry program is managed by the Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA) to maintain standards of security in electronics manufacturing. The program, designed to safeguard classified information and materials, is an essential element in their overall strategy for national security. The DMEA currently supports all branches of the armed services as well as the Departments of Homeland Security, Energy, Transportation, and Justice.

In order to achieve accreditation, TSI demonstrated that it has strict security measures in place to prevent unauthorized access to classified information. The stringent requirements, including supply continuity, chain of custody, reverse engineering prevention, and anti-tampering measures, are now an integral part of the manufacturing protocol at TSI with the sole purpose of providing all of its customers the highest level of security throughout the product development lifecycle and manufacturing process.
